Witchcraft, Lycanthropy, Drugs and Disease, a book by Homayun Sidky. Get Witchcraft, Lycanthropy, Drugs and Disease Books in several format like PDF, EPUB, Mobi. Download Witchcraft, Lycanthropy, Drugs and Disease books, Long before the political mass-murders witnessed in the present century, western Europe experienced another kind of holocaust--the witch-hunts of the early modern period. Condemned of flying through the air, changing into animals, and worshipping the Devil, over a hundred thousand people were brutally tortured, systematically maimed and burned alive. Why did these persecutions take place? Was it superstition, irrationality, or mass delusion that led to the witch-hunts? This study seeks explanation in the tangible actions of human actors and their worldly circumstances. The approach taken is anthropological; inferences are grounded on a wide spectrum of variables, ranging from the political and ideological practices used to mystify earthly affairs, to the logical structure of witch-beliefs, torture technology, and the role of psychotropic drugs and epidemic diseases.

Magic and the Law of Attraction, a book by Lisa Chamberlain. Get Magic and the Law of Attraction Books in several format like PDF, EPUB, Mobi. Download Magic and the Law of Attraction books, Everything You Need to Know to Change Your Life for the Better, from Best-Selling Author Lisa Chamberlain "Thoughts become things." "Like attracts like." "You get what you think about." You've probably encountered at least one of these ways of explaining how our habits of thought are actually creating our reality. The Law of Attraction has been a wildly popular topic for scores of "self-help" authors, motivational speakers, and New Age thinkers. But it's often been a source of frustration for readers who can't quite seem to make the Law of Attraction work for them. This is because, all too often, the guides they're reading just barely scratch the surface. Witches know that we can use the focused energy of our thoughts to bring about the healing of illness, more loving relationships, financial prosperity, and the accomplishment of long-held goals and dreams. But there is much more to it than simply thinking about what you want. The Law of Attraction is actually part of a larger framework for understanding how the Universe works. It's one of a set of laws, and our knowledge of them has been handed down to us over several centuries. This guide is an introduction to the Law of Attraction from a Witch's point of view, but you don't have to be a Witch in order to gain plenty of insights here. The information is intended for Witches and non-Witches alike. In fact, you don't have to be "religious" or "spiritual" at all to work with the Law of Attraction. But you do have to have an open mind, and accept that what you've been taught about the nature of reality is incomplete. This is the crucial starting point. Foundations in Manifestation: The Law of Attraction in Practical Magic If you've been curious, yet skeptical, about magic, this book provides the framework you need for understanding how it works. On the flip side, if you're a practicing Witch with experience in magic, but haven't quite grasped the full picture of the Law of Attraction, this book will clarify it for you. But whether or not you ever intend to try any magic, the concepts and suggested practices presented here can get you a long way toward making your goals a reality. You'll discover: - The ancient roots of our current knowledge about the Law of Attraction - How new discoveries in quantum physics support our understanding of this Universal law - Common misconceptions and FAQs about the Law of Attraction - How your own thought patterns hold you back and how to change them - A step-by-step breakdown of how the Law of Attraction figures into magical work - A few spells aimed directly at making the Law of Attraction work for you The principles inherent to magic and Witchcraft can be very useful for understanding how to create positive change using the Law of Attraction. Indeed, If you integrate the practices offered here, you'll see new manifestations develop in your life that feel-no matter what your spiritual orientation-just like magic. If you're ready to learn about the Law of Attraction, scroll to the top of the page and select the buy button. Readers will also be treated to an exclusive free gift!

Daemonologie, a book by King King James. Get Daemonologie Books in several format like PDF, EPUB, Mobi. Download Daemonologie books, At a time when news of strange sicknesses, sudden deaths and a widespread interest in witchcraft was discovered in the kingdom, a response to the pandemic was published in a dissertation written by King James. This dissertation provided the public with special knowledge regarding the history, practices and study of magick but also included the differences between ancient Witchcraft, Necromancy, Sorcery and the magick arts with all the sub categories and derivatives. This dissertation not only explains in detail the history and practices of ancient witchcraft but takes care to educate the reader of the various forms and workings of the infernal order of demons; detailing the demonology of Satan, Spectra; evil spirits, Ziim, Iim, Incubi, Succubi, faries, brownies, familiar spirits and even further elaborates on the daemonic and demoniac sufferings of haunting, obsession and possession. This work became the inspiration of Shakespeare''s Macbeth and even became a "how to" witch-hunter''s manual that was studied and used by the infamous Matthew Hopkins who within just 2 years launched a series of witch hunts that resulted in the executions of an estimated 300 witches. The first publication of his work included a case study of how King James himself partook in a witch trial during the year 1591 that uncovered a plot to sabotage his wife, the Queen of Scots and overthrow the throne of Scotland with the use of satanic rituals and animal sacrifice. This dissertation titled Dæmonologie was published in 1597, prior to the first publication of the King James Version of the Bible in 1611 and shows how the Original Hebrew of the Biblical Old Testament had contained within its verses the names of demonic or angelic entities that instead appear as animals in all the Greek and Latin translations from which the KJV derived. This edition of Dæmonologie has been fully transcribed, edited and translated into modern English. It is further annotated with explanatory notes, definitions and also expanded with more content and contains discovery from more witch trial records that took place during the reign of King James, not previously published in the original. The content is as follows: King James dissertation on daemonology: Book I. - The Description of Magic. Division of the Arts Etymology. The Difference Between Necromancy & Witchcraft. Rudiments & Devil''s School. Division of Astrology The Use of Charms. Forms of Circles & Conjurations The Devil''s Contract in Two Parts. Miracles of God vs Devil. Book II. - The Description of Sorcery & Witchcraft. Biblical Proof vs Imagination & Myth. Etymology of Sorcery. The First path of Apprenticeship Division of a Witch''s Actions. Adoration of their Master Method of Transportation & The Illusions of Satan The Curse & Remedy of Diseases Least and Most Subject to Harm. The Appearance of a Devil (Demonic Forms) The Times and Forms a Devil Appears. / Denial Book III. - The Description of the Spirits. The Four Principle Kinds. Spectra. Method of Avoiding Their Trouble. Obsession & Possession. On Daemoniacs and the Possessed Incubi & Succubi Faries Of the Trials and Punishments of Witches. Witch Trials: The North Berwick Witch Trials & the Death of Dr. Fian. Where an infamous group of witches (approximately 200) testified to plotting against the throne of Scotland and a satanic sacrificial ritual was performed to as an attempt kill the Queen of Scots, wife of prince James. The Discovery of the Witchcraft of Joane Flower and her daughters Margret and Phillip Flower that describes peculiar events revolving around the sudden and mysterious death of the honorable Frances, Earl of Rutland and all the examinations and confessions of the witches in Leicestershire that were used as evidence in the trial that took place during King James'' reign of England.

The Gray Witch's Grimoire, a book by Amythyst Raine. Get The Gray Witch's Grimoire Books in several format like PDF, EPUB, Mobi. Download The Gray Witch's Grimoire books, What makes this book unique? The world of the gray witch has been largely avoided, misrepresented, or glossed over with various books geared gingerly towards 'protection magic'. These books, though informative and well written as they may be, have totally missed the spirit of the gray witch – who she really is, how she relates to the world of shadow and light, and exactly what she's willing to do to stand her ground. In our society 'dark' is automatically viewed as 'evil'; and 'light' is automatically viewed as 'good'. We're expected to live completely within one realm and to totally avoid the other. This creates imbalance and is a great injustice to the true spirit of the ancient wise woman. This book puts matters to right and gives the public a view of just what the gray witch is – and what she isn't. The gray witch does not live in a world of chaos or unbridled black magic. She has a code of honor, a sense of propriety, and a relevance in today's society.

Download The Witch's Book of Simples books, Keep it Simple A Simple is a philtre derived from a single herb and was an important element among the natural resources of the parish-pump witch, wise-women and cunning-folk. Simples are common kitchen ‘stuff’ that have been handed down through generations of country people in the form of family cures for everyday ailments. Or as William Fernie wrote in his Herbal Simples (1897) The art of Simpling is as old with us as our British hills. It aims at curing common ailments with simple remedies culled from the soil, or got from home resources near at hand. These were no fancy recipes with magical formulae, and, often given as a tisane, the woman of the household was able to use the remedies to treat common ailments suffered by her family. And, this elementary form of domestic plant medicine can be as simple as a cup of chamomile tea made from flowers picked fresh from our own garden to aid sleep. This was the most elementary way to use medicinal plants since no fancy recipes or scientific acumen was needed. But this element of traditional witchcraft has long been in the shadows ...

Download The Penguin Book of Witches books, Chilling real-life accounts of witches, from medieval Europe through colonial America, compiled by the New York Times bestselling author of The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane and The Daughters of Temperance Hobbs From a manual for witch hunters written by King James himself in 1597, to court documents from the Salem witch trials of 1692, to newspaper coverage of a woman stoned to death on the streets of Philadelphia while the Continental Congress met, The Penguin Book of Witches is a treasury of historical accounts of accused witches that sheds light on the reality behind the legends. Bringing to life stories like that of Eunice Cole, tried for attacking a teenage girl with a rock and buried with a stake through her heart; Jane Jacobs, a Bostonian so often accused of witchcraft that she took her tormentors to court on charges of slander; and Increase Mather, an exorcism-performing minister famed for his knowledge of witches, this volume provides a unique tour through the darkest history of English and North American witchcraft. Witchcraft in Early Modern Scotland, a book by Lawrence Normand,Gareth Roberts. Get Witchcraft in Early Modern Scotland Books in several format like PDF, EPUB, Mobi. Download Witchcraft in Early Modern Scotland books, This volume provides a valuable introduction to the key concepts of witchcraft and demonology through a detailed study of one of the best known and most notorious episodes of Scottish history, the North Berwick witch hunt, in which King James was involved as alleged victim, interrogator, judge and demonologist. It provides hitherto unpublished and inaccessible material from the legal documentation of the trials in a way that makes the material fully comprehensible, as well as full texts of the pamphlet News from Scotland and James' Demonology, all in a readable, modernised, scholarly form. Full introductory sections and supporting notes provide information about the contexts needed to understand the texts: court politics, social history and culture, religious changes, law and the workings of the court, and the history of witchcraft prosecutions in Scotland before 1590. The book also brings to bear on this material current scholarship on the history of European witchcraft.

Download The development of deep brain stimulation for neurological and psychiatric disorders: clinical, societal and ethical issues books, To date more than eighty thousand patients worldwide have received deep brain stimulation (DBS), mainly in order to alleviate symptoms of treatment-resistant disorders such as tremor associated with Parkinson’s disease, essential tremor, chronic pain, epilepsy, obsessive compulsive disorder, major depression and Tourette syndrome. The number of indications for neurological and psychiatric conditions using this technology is rapidly increasing, raising important societal and ethical issues that cannot be dealt with by scientists and clinicians on their own, but need discussions among all possible stakeholders on questions such as: what are the comprehensive risks and benefits of this technology? what is the real impact on patients’ life, in terms of health, quality of life and personal identity? This Research Topic provides an overview of potentials and limitations of deep brain stimulation as used to treat neurological and psychiatric conditions, bringing together Mini Reviews, Perspectives and Opinion papers from key stakeholders interested in the development and social impact of this technology. It is also a continuation of the debate that started among scientists, clinicians, patients, sociologists, journalists, philosophers and other experts during the “brains in dialogue on deep brain stimulation” workshop that was organized in September 2010 in Warsaw, Poland, by the FP7 project bid – brains in dialogue (www.neuromedia.eu) coordinated by the Interdisciplinary Laboratory of SISSA (Trieste, Italy).
